Carved on this blue Hawk’s Eye stone is a little heron reminiscent of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. As an aside, Hawk’s eye is Tiger’s eye before the blue turns into the beautiful honey/brown that we recognise as Tiger’s eye. Time and oxidation of the iron in Hawk’s Eye changes it into the golden brown Tiger’s eye that is more common and well known. Hawk’s eye is quite an unusual but very beautiful stone. The setting is 22ct gold and a very typical ancient Roman design; a combination of these two civilizations works very well together. Ring size L/M
